IMPACT

As we strive to continue providing accessible Model United Nations opportunities for students regardless of their background, in alignment with our core principles and mission, we reflect on the many delegates who began their MUN journeys with IpohMUN. Over the years, IpohMUN has served as a foundational platform for students taking their first steps into diplomacy, public speaking, and policy discourse. Through our conferences, many first-time delegates have grown into confident speakers, critical thinkers, and capable leaders, going on to participate in and excel at national and international MUN conferences. By lowering barriers to entry and fostering a supportive learning environment, IpohMUN has played a meaningful role in shaping students’ academic confidence and broadening their exposure to global and regional issues.

Beyond conferences, IpohMUN has expanded its impact through workshops, trainings, and community-driven initiatives aimed at nurturing long-term development rather than one-off participation. These initiatives have equipped students with practical skills such as resolution writing, negotiation, research methodologies, and leadership, while also empowering them to take initiative within their own schools and local communities. Many former delegates have returned to the MUN ecosystem as organisers, Chairs, trainers, and mentors, contributing back to the community that first enabled their growth. In doing so, IpohMUN has not only developed individual delegates, but has also helped cultivate a sustainable, student-led MUN culture in Ipoh and beyond - one that values accessibility, academic rigour, and meaningful youth engagement as drivers of positive change.

While there have been many delegates whose MUN journey have been impacted by us, we would like to take this section to highlight the few whose journey has inspired countless others in their community.

"This was my first MUN so I am very satisfied with what I got. I went from someone who has zero knowledge about MUN and politics to someone who is confident in taking a bigger role for a future MUN. Mainly because I felt this MUN was beginner-friendly as I also participated with other beginners."

"As my second MUN experience, IpohMUN 25 was definitely very enlightening to say the least. The secretariats were very kind and approachable, and helped the delegates in my council a lot. As a beginner, I was very grateful to the chair's generosity, willingness to share, patience and flexibility. I recognise that I have many shortcomings but the chairs were exceptional in handling council affairs. Great job!"

"IpohMUN 2025 was such an experience for me as my group and I won the group delegation, when I arrived back at KL and saw my mother, driving back I started crying out of joy. This was the first time I (with a bunch of people) had won such a big award. A lot of laughter and joy was projected during this conference, also moments of pure stupidity (in a good way). Although writing articles and submitting them on time was not at all easy, I still greatly enjoyed and appreciated this conference. This was truly a memorable and enjoyable experience that I will definitely come back to next time. Thank you IpohMUN."
